A few nice iPod News images I found:
A message of thanks
A letter from Network Rail and Northern Rail displayed on the window of a ticket office at Salford Central Railway Station on Saturday 9th February.
The letter is regarding the recent derailment that happened near Regent Road on Wednesday 23rd January 2013.
The train also caught fire although nobody on board was hurt.
The locomotive involved was a Class 47 (Brush Type) - Fleet No. 47500. It's owned by West Coast Railways and is currently on display at nearby Museum of Science and Industry, the damage is still visible.
The locomotive was hauling empty carriages between Ardwick and Carnforth, Lancashire. As a result of the incident, some trains are currently not running between here and Salford Crescent (I was stranded at this station as I intended to head for Walkden by rail rather than bus for a good 10 minutes or so before I realised) - although i'm open to correction!
