I woke up earlier than normal in Costa Rica, usually around 5, and had coffee and fruit and watched the sunrise over the Pacific. One morning, this guy snuck down and grabbed my banana while I read the news. He quickly jumped out of my reach and posed for me. I was glad he had more interest in fruit than in iPads and cameras.
These monkeys are pretty aggressive and we were warned to be sure to close the door to our balcony as the monkeys are known to ransack rooms looking for goodies. The area also has many howler monkeys which are larger and aptly named.
Capuchin or White Faced Monkey.
The word origin for Capuchin is also interesting. From this word we also get Cappuccino, which brings me back to coffee.
